Hi Chris I just wanted it to be standard really, but i think i will end up with electric fuel pump. I have done some research on different cams but any advise on cams would be greatfully accepted

Hi Guys Thanks for the comments, hopefully my knee issue won't get in the way, i just have to plan a bit more i.e. get everything to hand when lying down to stop having to get up numerous times when you need something. I also have made a stool which allows me to sit when doing welding at knee level stopping me from kneeling down, all should help. I know painting is an art (excuse the pun) and i want it right, the guy i use is excellent so should be good when done. I will keep plodding on, i can see the light at the end of the welding tunnel so shouldn't be long now. I am going to keep the colour, as it is meant to be British racing green already, but there are quite a few different shades i believe. I will post some more pics next week as i am a biot further on than the photos suggest. Cheers Paul

Hi Paul The transition cars were 1967 to 1968 and as far as I am aware F or G registration. If you would like to pm me with your car body number I will see what I can track down in terms of date. Regards David Will do David Thanks

Hi Chaps There has been a question niggling me for a while so i thought i would post it to see if you 1800 guru's can answer it. My car is registered as a 1969 Morris 1800s MK2, all the numbers seem to be right and match, i have historic certificate etc. The question is most of the "S" models i see have the large aluminium detail trim down the side, mine doesn't it has a pinstrip. I have been told that my car is a transition car between the MK1 and Mk2 is this correct or should it have the aluminium trim. Everything points to it being a mk2 i.e. rear lights etc. I was also told that it is a very rare car for the above reason as there are very few left. I am asking because i need to make a decision to try to keep it as original as possible or modernise it a bit. Up to now its original but i want to add a few things to make it more drivable, e.g. dynamator, wheels, electronic ignition etc. Hope you can enlighten me Paul

Thanks Paul. Some excellent work and photos. That view of the rear suspension mountings is particularly worrying; maybe your car is actually worse there than Chris' was? Regards David were the rear suspension bolts on or not in this case Paul Hi David Yes your probably right but remember this was still mot'ed when i took it off the road .............scary isn't it. Paul

Good grief, that's horrible. It does make you wonder sometimes how people think - a lot of that would just have been easier to fix properly in the first place! Chris. Yes i agree, it was probably harder to repair the way they did it
