For those people who are no longer members of the loci club & therefore not upto date with recent events within the club. Recently the Northern consortium have delved into their own pockets at great expense to themselves & not the club to secure the purchase of much needed parts to keep our beloved cars on the road for many years to come. A recent parts discovery way down South from a closed down garage was offered FOR SALE to the Northern consortium, which resulted in the purchase of some very scarce & much needed genuine parts. This rare haul of parts included genuine bump stop rubbers( Tony Wood now has enough to last a lifetime), original radiator grommets & a whole load of other obsolete parts which were recently listed in the last 2 editions of the club magazine(members would have been privy to this information). Tony solved the issue of the bump stops & engine mountings many years ago with club member Paul Cope remaking them for Tony. Another rare find was the "Z" rubbers used for holding up the centre section of the exhaust system, new air boxes complete with filter & fixing bolt. Bumper fixing bolts unique to the landcrab are now in plentiful supply. Front exhaust pipes are plentiful & at a reasonable price, front door skins & o/side complete rear wings for the MK 2/3 1800 & 2200 cars. Tony Wood now has a limited stock of front valances. If you own a LANDCRAB then holding some of these spares within your own personal stocks is my recommendation, give Tony a ring he may just have what you need.

That is an age related plate for your car if it`s the 1 originating from North Yorkshire. The original reg number was MOD ??F the owner listed the car on CRABMART via the LANDCRAB owners club website & stated he was selling the car but keeping the number plate as it was valued at ££££. Apparently the scooter lads wanted it. He wanted £2500 for the car plus a ton of spares to go with it & would not sell separately. A dealer purchased the car & sold the spares.

Pleased that is all sorted Dave, sadly we cannot alter the fact we are all getting a little older & tend to forget things from time to time. I will contact Chris to see if he can drag himself away from his welder long enough to knock a few words & pictures together for the mag. Dave.

There it would seem lies the problem Dave. You have moved dwellings. Hopefully Rob will now ensure the problem is sorted. Pleased you have been able to access the online version. It is a good read, have you thought about dropping a few words & pictures to Mark about your car`s recent structural re-strengthening. Dave.

Hi Dave, I am sorry to hear you have not received the magazine again. I have emailed Rob Galloway & asked him to look into this on your behalf to see what the problem is. Hopefully this will be resolved swiftly. I can only apologise for the missing mag.

Have you rung Tony Wood LOCI spares secretary? If Tony Has not got 1 then I suggest you contact Ray House or Patrick Gordon. Tony has numbers for both these gents.

I agree with you Nick. You see my car wants for nothing the radiator is brand new re-cored. The ignition is electronic & set up is spot on as is the carb & everything else. There are no problems with circulation in the block she never gets warm & all hoses are replaced, the coolant is changed on a regular basis. Doing between 90mph & the ton for nearly an hour in a 40yr old car is the problem, they will do those speeds "Yes" but not for that length of time unless the engine has been modified in some way.

As some of you may be aware my 1800 developed engine problems early last year. It would smoke on the overrun sometimes, then it started pressurising in the sump & blowing oil out of every orifice. The car did not make it to Hutton as the problem had got much worse. This winter my mate has stripped the engine down to reveal 4 broken piston rings.( How did that happen!!!) I will tell you. I received a phone call whilst at the 2014 Hutton show to say my father had been rushed into hospital & was very ill & I needed to get home A.S.A.P. So I floored the 1800 down the A1 the pedal was buried deep in the shagpile. This is the result.
