Strangely enough, that's going to be quite a rare car - late for an 1800, it's becoming tax exempt this time round (It's likely to increase in value a a bit) and it's in everyone's favourite colour; Harvest Gold. Or Beige. £500 (£400 seems to be in relation to displacers). Good spot, Nick. Chris. Its Limeflower Chris.

Right lads to put this issue to bed I have been in touch with the seller regarding the reg number as I stated the bumpers came off a wolseley 18/85 donor car along with the interior etc. The seller is not trying to work one or any thing like that. They have the correct paper work for the six along with the log book they are going to forward me the correct reg number. Should any of you be interested in the car here is the phone number 07591444431 ask for Eric.

It would appear this car is at least a 1974/5 model as it has the cigarette lighter on the dashboard. It could just be that the bumpers along with the seats & steering wheel are from the 18/85 donor car I have asked the seller to clarify. As soon as a reply is given I will post it.

Just becareful putting this electronic ignition kit in your existing distributor they stop working without warning! Make sure you have your old points & condensor with you. This happened to me on a wolseley 6, when I rang Simon at best british classics & told him what had happened, he said "It,s cos your putting a new part in an old dizzy" So I said "Well why are you selling them" Any way I purchased a brand new electronic dizzy & uprated coil.Worked at treat. Fitted them to both my landcrabs. Hope this helps

As I said in my intro I have owned 9 land crabs from the age of 16 to present. I will try to remember their reg numbers & colour schemes. They are in the order I owned them.
Austin 1800 LWE 340K - MIDNIGHT BLUE/ RED INTERIOR. Manual. Austin 2200 CAM 539L - GLACIER WHITE/ OLIVE INTERIOR( Changed to midnight blue/red interior) Manual. Wolseley 18/85 WXC 446K- GLACIER WHITE/ OLIVE INTERIOR- AUTOMATIC. Wolseley 6 HCV 208L - MIDNIGHT BLUE/ BLUE INTERIOR( Changed to Glacier white) AUTOMATIC. Morris 1800 AMB 378M - HARVEST GOLD/ BLUE INTERIOR- Manual. Austin 2200 YEN 80M - BLACK / BLACK INTERIOR- AUTOMATIC-Ex coffin chaser/ Limousine. Wolseley 6 UYU 223M - BLACK TULIP(PURPLE) RED INTERIOR- AUTOMATIC. Morris 1800 GVO 574N - HARVEST GOLD/ BLUE INTERIOR( Changed to Cosmic blue/black interior) Manual. Wolseley 18/85 WXC 446K - GLACIER WHITE/OLIVE INTERIOR- AUTOMATIC.
The last 2 cars I currently own having bought the Wolseley back with an auto box problem that has been sorted. I robbed the interior out of my first car before it was scrapped & put it into the 2200 I had acquired. Painted it midnight blue ran it for 12mnths, purchased a new car drove the 2200 into the breakers yard failed m.o.t on a ball joint. I know I know!!! & the rest is history used my wolseley 18/85 & 6 as wedding cars that's why the colour change on the 6 & the purchase of a limo. 3 of these cars are in the hands of new owners. AMB 378M lives in Doncaster. HCV 208L lives in Durham. UYU 223M lives in Holmfirth. Thanks Dave.

THINK YOU,VE MISUNDERSTOOD CHRIS PAL, THE RAY HOUSE ENGINE IS STAYING IN THE COP CAR. THE "S" ENGINE IS GOING INTO "KATIE" AS HER ENGINE HAS DONE SOME MILES I WILL LET CHRIS KNOW BUT I THINK HE WILL BE KEEPING THE ENGINE OUT OF "KATIE" AS WE HAVE 6 LANDCRABS BETWEEN US & YOU NEVER KNOW IF WE MAY NEED ONE.

Hi all, let me introduce myself my name is Dave & I am another lad from Barnsley. My mate Chris recently joined & recommended I did the same. My passion for landcrabs goes back to 1973 when I was 7yrs of age. It was time for my parents to change their 1965 Vauxhall victor 101 estate for something newer, to replace it was an Austin 1800 mk2 built on the 2nd October 1971 finished in midnight blue with red interior. The car was kept for 3yrs & sold to my uncle who in turn gave it to me when I was 16 on the promise I put it back on the road after a 4yr lay up. This I did & while my mates were getting mini,s & mk1 escorts here was me with a landcrab. Roll forward 31yrs & in that time I have owned 9 landcrabs in my time. The Yorkshire lads support the LOCI club travelling to many events showing our cars. So there we have it if you see us out & about come & have a chat we are very friendly. All the best Dave.
