Yes - one of the guys that had one on his car that I met at the rally at Milton Keynes gave me some photos and dimensions. I had it made by an outfit called Gartrac who were quite well known rally guys in the '70s and are still around. They did in in stainless and charged I think about £160 for the job. It's yet to go on the car so I don't know how accurate the specs were. It'll be going on the car in the next few weeks so I can let you know then or send you the stuff now - up to you. The mounting bits are already there - so it's (hopefully) pretty straightforward - but when haven't we heard that before? Cheers Andrew

The bigger bump stops at the back and mini shocks at the front just minimise the front to back rocking when you accelerate/move away. The anti roll bar keeps principally the back end but also the whole car slightly flatter when cornering hard. Have talked to the rally guys who say you only really notice it's there when you're on gravel and it helps (with a bit of left foot braking) to counter the understeer and get the tail out. We shall see!

I saw in the latest missive (email) from LOCI that we're an invited club to the above event. I just thought I'd mention it in case anyone had missed it. It's a brilliant day out or couple of days if you can do both days with an un-demanding autotest type event as well as a concourse competition if you like that sort of thing. Lots going on the whole time and a very friendly event with a huge mix of cars and car people. I gather only 4 club members have expressed any interest so far and they need 12 to run a class. If any of you were thinking about it but weren't sure, it's definitely one to try. Andrew

Thanks - kit's already on the car as you may just be able to see from the photos elsewhere - it was just the standard kit for mini's come with some v.basic shocks - the rally cars had konis and they were adjustable. I'll just wait and see once it's back on the road. Have also had anti-roll bar made up as per the early mk 1's, so with all that and about 100 weight of rust out of the car it should be very different. Andrew

Really useful stuff. By the way did Tony H use std mini shocks or Konis or something else and if adjustable, what settings? Cheers Andrew

Hi Chris - I'm humming and ha-ing about the engine in my 1800S - there's nothing wrong with it - apart from mega oil consumption that is, but having spent a while on the phone to Peter Burgess am convinced that at some time I'll want to go the way of the horsepower. I also want to get back behind the wheel as soon as the welding's done, but the engines out at the mo. So one way forward could be for me to buy/hire (!) your Ray House engine for a bit and stick that back in the car and do the mega rebuild at my leisure. If any bit of this remotely appeals, let me know! Cheers Andrew

Seem to have lost the photos of the o/s sill being replaced but here's a bit of an update - if this works then medal to Chris for his help and patience! O/S arm that supports everything was u/s so new one now in, the nearside front wasn't as bad as it could have been although removal of wing disclosed the usual problems. Crossmember was pretty ok - have new valance from Ray House ready to go on. Am still humming and ha ing about the engine - it's very tempting as it's sat there to start pulling it apart. Am wondering if anyones got a good engine and gearbox I could drop back into my car and take my time (and money) over the rebuild of the other one - they can even have the substitute engine back in 6 months or so!

Very sorry to hear your grim news. Sincerely hope you have complete and full recovery. Hopefully my attempts over the coming days to master the dreaded photobucket will cheer you up and not add stress to your current situation! Wishing you all the best. Andrew

Am struggling with this photobucket thing - there's loads of new photos - just use the original link if you're interested!

I bought a pair of these a few weeks ago but because of the extra shocks I've put on the front they won't fit without some modification which I don't want to do!
www.lokari.de/fender
They cost me 190 euros (!) and I'm looking to move them on without too much of a loss or swap for bits I need - laminated front screen and/petrol tank/ Peco rear exhaust box being three things that come to mind - cash either way/straight swap - whatever!
If any interest let me know and I'll take some pictures - but they're exactly like the ones in the link.
Cheers Andrew

Hi Chris I was keen on KTE as well - but too slow off the mark and to be honest have my hands full with my 1800S! Cheers Andrew
