Having not had the time to visit the board, I've just found this thread about the race car. I posted some pictures of it on a different thread. The pictures are on the picture board and called Landcrab at the 24 hours of Lemons.

Incredible! While we were stripping the paint to bare metal I noticed the difference on my 69 Landcrab rear doors. At the top rearward corner one was rounded and one was squared. I have assumed these were the original doors, but I now believe one may have been changed, unless Austin was using some older stock of doors when they built.

I'm not looking to swap, mainly because parts aren't available in the USA, but want to fix my oil leak. I've searched the list for a solution, but can't find anything. Does anyone know of a way to fix the oil leak on the selector cables? I'm not sure why the oil is getting in to them, but I can't stop it from leaking out. What am I missing?

I'll look into the Antelope color. Anyone know a current code for the color?

Armadillo Beige! never heard of it but that might be the color. The interior is brown, the carpet is brown. I've taken a sample of the Bedouin next to it and the color under the door panels (cards) is much darker.

Hey, I've got my 69 Austin 1800 down to bare metal, working on repairing previous repairs and replacing rusted areas. I've now got to pick a paint color for it. I've decided to respray the original color and I'm looking for a code for it. The car is a Canadian import and the color is a beige. I've looked at several color chips and I'm not sure it is Bedouin or maybe Antelope or some other color. Does anyone have an idea of what the color in 69 might have been and what the current color code would be? Thanks, Oh yeah, maybe I should be saying colour instead of color!

I've got my '69 Austin 1800 just about stripped to bare metal and I'm realizing I'll need to get all new weather stripping and other seals around the car, like rear 1/4 light seals, fuzzy flex etc. Where is the best place to obtain these parts? I'm in the USA so I know it'll be overseas whichever way I go. Thanks

Thanks, if only a couple of weeks earlier I would have gone for it. I've straightened mine and rewelded it in place.

Okay, thanks. I've drilled out the spot welds and repaired the bent pieces. Now getting ready to weld them back in. Thanks anyway

Hey All, I came here looking for information about the front crossmember and found it to be an enlightening sight. I own a 69 Austin 1800 MkII, which I believe is fairly rare in the USA. My car has a British Columbia sticker on the windscreen, so I believe it to be of Canadian orgin. The car has had a fairly rough past, at least in my terms, and I am mainly planning on keeping it intact. I really don't intend to restore it, just recondition it. I got in to this front end repair when I decided to repaint it and the damage is a lot more than I expected. If anyone know of some parts in the USA, the contact would greatly be appreciated. I guess you could call me an Anglophile becuase of my collection of cars. My newest vehicle is a 2009 LR3 or Discovery as you may know it, my wife drives a 2005 Jag S-type, we als have another Jag, a 73 E-type 2+2 V-12, I have 2 other Land Rovers, a 96 Disco and a 66 Series 2A military ambulance converted to a pick-up. I have 4 - TR6's, one of which is a racecar that I drive, I have 2 - MGB's, one we bought in 81, I also have another Austin, an Austin America that my daughter and I restored when she was in high school, and last but not least, a 74 triumph Trident MC.
