Another strange year throughout. Covid showed no signs of going away and instead appears to be going from strength to strength in many parts of the world.
I did manage to get out to one classic show, at TATTON PARK and LOCI also managed to run a stand at the CLASSIC MOTOR SHOW. Sadly, I suspect that many of us largely just kept out of the way.
The year started with some doubts about the future of the forum due to potential hosting issues. Several weeks hard work saw the important sections of the forum backed up in picture format. Whilst our fears ultimately came to nought, we do now have a substantial future-proof archive if the worst should happen. I will re-visit this later in 2022 and see about updating it with the rest of 2021's posts.
The restoration threads saw some steady progress throughout the year. Nick's made great progress with OKR down under; Cookie got stuck into his MONSTER and there was even some work on my RED DOG. There were updates from PeppiB about MO and even some news about Snoopy's GLE.
Very sadly we lost TonymarkIII in August. His restoration of MUDDY was more-or-less complete and he had built a beautiful car. It's something which the Red Dog should aspire to one day. Sadly, Tony had little time to enjoy the car. I have been told that Muddy is staying in the family, so hopefully we'll see it again in the future.
Personally, I developed a strange interest in rubber products and have been making useful 'Crab parts. It's both satisfying and frustrating in equal measure. The year was ruined by the catastrophic break-in to my garage and the loss of Mother. In many ways, it's become a year to forget. On the other hand I cannot thank enough many people, including Forum members, for their help, support and assistance during this time. It has become abundantly clear that there is no shame in asking for, and accepting help, be it physical, mental or anything else. There is no need to feel alone during difficult times.
Finally, big thanks as always to Dave1800, who regularly steadies the ship and helps run the Forum.
I wish all of you a very happy and prosperous 2022 and the joy of whatever it brings you. Please keep posting, the forum only works with your input.
Chris.
