Middle age (ish) memory loss at work - it is 048 Danube Blue 🤔 Sometimes written as BU 48

OK - it's blue. Or green. Or grey. It looks about the same colour as what's already on there, anyway! Two good solid coates of stonechip on the underside of the sill. Lined off about an inch short of the up fold. Fairly happy with that. I want to see it in daylight tomorrow to be sure. That took less than the half a can I found in the boot. It's had two full coats "wet on wet" along the sill, and three over the arch repair. The Jawell paint which David bought applies very nicely - nearest aerosol to HVLP painting I've come across. So leave it strictly alone until tomorrow at least and see how much rubbing down is going to be needed. Chris.

Looking fantastic.
Jawell use a special spray nozzle. When the can is empty, keep the nozzle as it will fit other cans giving improved spraying from those as well.

Wheels on, doors on, looks quite car-ish. Which let me find this on the wing top: Where'd that come from? Filled, flatted, painted. Chris.

Er, when I fitted the radio 10 years ago I drilled the aerial hole so the wire went into the void so had to fill that hole and drill another. Vibrations must have moved that filler
Looking near normal at that side now

David and Nigel appeared at lunch time to take Mo home. She fired up first time. I'd left the battery charging overnight to make sure there was plenty of charge. Lifting the bonnet led to a minor outbreak of wiring repairs.... I hate those red and blue crimp-on connectors. Anyway, they're on their way back to Newcastle as I type - I hope all goes well. 10 minutes after they set off, the phone rang. It was a delivery driver with PFV 729H on the back. Well, I was planning on blitzing the garage. Chris.

Thanks for all your hard work Chris. Mo is now tucked up in her parking space. Think that Shell garage near you must have swapped petrol for rocket fuel (I accidentally put the Super stuff in) and the car just 'flew' up the A1(M) with no creaks or groans. Must admit, I had forgotten just how much fun she is to drive

Aha..! Be careful with that there Super. The Red Dog ran on something horrible when I got it back on the road. That was using "normal" unkeaded. She eventually settled down and stopped on the key. About a month back, I shot in £30's worth of Super by mistake, and now she runs on again after a decent run. Baah.
You need to fill the sills with the wax presevative of your choice - soon as.
Glad she got you home safely.
Chris.

I have loads of Waxoil - but the weather will have to warm up a lot to enable a) the stuff to spray and b) get me flexible enough to get down and actually spray it.
My Moggy used to love the Super fuel. Mo has it very very occasionally as a treat. It does actually improve the running, but as you say, over use will cause run on. It will be diluted with normal unleaded next time she is out
Thanks again for the brilliant work - and good luck with the next one. See you in the Spring (different car Marque for Chris to practice on - German engineering from a time when their cars were made by engineers and not accountants)

Oh, Shoemakers, round objects, or similar words to that effect. Thought all sorted and today my cleaner was kindly cleaning the interior of the car (even removing grass which has been sitting there since a very wet Peterborough in 2013) She was using a car vacuum plugged in to cigar lighter so I had the engine running so the battery didn't drain. First, the unmistakable smell, then steam everywhere, then a river of antifreeze making its way to a nearby drain. Water pouring out of the pump Thankfully I do have a couple of new spare ones .... somewhere in a mountain of stuff in my storage area. Entertainment for tomorrow afternoon then - try and find one, with a gasket.

What? To actually find one or to change it? Called Orange tool box but the chap who came merely confirmed the pump but wasn't keen to get his hands dirty and change the thing. He served his apprenticeship on such cars and spent half an hour relating his experiences. In that time he could have changed the thing for me!

If you manage to find a cast iron one in your pile of goodies that would be better than the aluminium type to avoid all that nasty electrolytic corrosion. Lucky it didn't happen on the way back from Leeds a few days ago! David Water pouring out of the pump Thankfully I do have a couple of new spare ones ....
