make sure you pace yourself as your health is more important than rotting metal.
Today's work looks good and the car will be stronger for it. Been puzzling over the 2 wires and have eventually remembered. 1 is reversing light, which works, and the other used to operate a high intensity rear fog light until the wire developed a short (must have chaffed somewhere and broken the insulation) so if it is obvious to you which is which, just pull the duff one out. That is why there is a mounting hole on the rear bumper vallance but no lamp. When it was connected and I turned it on, the headlights went out!
Once again, many thanks
Dave

I had that once with the front spots on Eugenie. Flicked them on as I shot round the "Esses" at the end of the runway at LBA doing 50mph. Second corner was interesting... Again, wire bared against the bodywork.
Todays stuff, I just wanted to get a bit of strength back into the chassis leg as soon as possible, so tying into the bottom of the bulkhead made some sense, once the full shape was back in place. I won't have to worry about it all changing shape now.
Chris.

Thanks - that makes real sense.
Headlights going out when you don't expect it can cause an interesting situation - but enough of laundry problems!

Bulkhead back in one piece. Interesting to make as it has shape in three dimensions. Making the little bit fot the corner was, by contrast, a complete cow! I'll get the front end of the inner sill done next, then I can get started on the floor. Chris.

Dave has had quite a fright by all accounts and has been quite lucky. Unfortunately, I don't fix motabilty scooters. Fiddly corner repair finished, grot cut out of inner sill and flange piece welded home. From the outside - flange double-sided welded for a bit of extra strength. Don't want to put the wheelarch panel in until I can offer up the new sill panel and see how everything mates up. Front floor panel starting to go in. Back and inboard edges butt welded home. Lap and plug welding to come along the front and outer edge. Hopefully get that finished tomorrow, then I can start chasing the inner sill back under the seat hump. Chris.

Front floor now finished. Floor welded to bulkhead and chassis plate. Odd pinholes filled in. Step at rear made and fitted. Seems very strong now. Inner sill back to the seat hump tomorrow and the rest of the front floor can then be made up and fitted. Then I can really start chopping. Chris.

Chopped off the outer sill. It didn't put up much of a fight. Revealing the original sill.... Top edge bashed down to meet the top of the original sill and filled with filler. A few spaced out lap welds had to be cut through to get the top strip free. Usual mess at the bottom of the "A" post. Front end of centre membrane shot. Back end of centre membrane shot. Middle 5' is fine. Inner sill/floor joint looks decent at the back end and should clean up OK. There looks like a repair panel back by the displacer which I can't really see properly until I get some of the wreckage at the back cleared. Little historical note - cover sill came from Bucks Car Panels in High Wycombe. They're still going strong today. Off to Whalley tomorrow to get Jeff's engine back in, so not much going to happen until next week now. Chris.
