Thanks for all the tips. I can’t take it for a drive as it just has no power to be able to make progress in city traffic - a hazard and annoyance to other road users. That’s the trouble with living where I do, handy for everything except driving a poorly car Have ordered new plugs but they are taking ages to arrive (Halfrauds) closed some years ago and local accessory places aren’t accessible in a wheelchair. Plan is to get parts together before ‘encouraging’ someone to help. A new rocker cover gasket has arrived so I can check if there is a sticking valve. Yes there are 2 spares in the boot already, but the state of my boot means they are probably knackered
Chris - I have to work short and rest very long. I was working for 30 minutes on Merc door card on Saturday and then slept for 4 hours and wasn’t able to do anything yesterday - Son had to drive me to pub for lunch. He is only here until 12th June when he returns to his Surrey home after being here for 15 months
Andrew - if I wasn’t in the City Centre the car would be driven along country roads to see if the fault would clear.
I will report progress as soon as there is any. It WILL be sorted

I am going to introduce Son’s hands to spanners this weekend. It will be a culture shock for him and really unknown if he will be able to use one. His skills are mental and mathematical
If the petrol was off surely it would affect all the cylinders and not just one
I will get the fault sorted - even if it means an extra hour of work for my cleaner. She is very good with spanners!

Thought I would use her today to drive to pub for lunch. Started, drove out of garage and then dropped to 3 cylinders so around the block and back into garage ☹️☹️ Into Merc and off to be fed. Have no idea how I am going to investigate fault as I really can’t lift a spanner now. May have to educate son in their use before he returns to leafy Surrey in 3 weeks time
As I really now can’t look after her I may have to seriously consider moving her on to someone who can. I have owned her for 15 years ☹️☹️☹️

Mo went for MOT yesterday (as I can no longer get under her, best to have someone checking all is well) Garage is old type and MOT bay is over a pit. Tester was underneath when bottom hose let go and he got a hot bath! Worrying about how he was going to free up the testing bay, I produced a spare hose from the boot of essential things. His face lit up and he fitted it without charge She passed

I suspect he values his anatomy more than attempting to ride it and Mrs P catching him at it!

There is a YouTube video on the car in which it is stated the worn out seats were ‘sympathetically reupholstered in leatherette’ by previous owner. If it is such a low mileage should the seats have worn out??

Bradley James Classics have a Wolseley 6 auto - allegedly in pristine condition. Asking price? £14995 I couldn't see any gold plating on the thing to justify that price!

Unable to do much at the moment so to alleviate the boredom I have been spending considerable time on YouTube. I watched a chap who collects ‘end of life’ vehicles. OK my modern is 30 years old and Mo is 51 and both running well. This guy collected a 60 plate golf for breaking as the electronics wouldn’t allow operation of the headlights so car was scrap, and then a 61 plate Polo suffering a catastrophic electronic failure so again going for scrap I will stick with my old girls

So sorry to hear of your problems Rosie. CAB is the place for help and advice - they are very good (I used to be on the Management Committee of a local branch) When my late Wife was having radiotherapy and chemotherapy years ago she wasn’t allowed to drive. Regulations must have changed since then Dave
