Taken radio out. A couple of years ago I was ill and a friend put a new ignition switch in for me. His wiring was atrocious and had come apart meaning there was no live feed to either the radio or warning lights. Proper connections have now been fitted and all works well. That feeble earth wire doesn't appear to do anything.
I must point out that no midgets were abused or injured in the completion of this repair
Thanks for the advice guys

The flasher unit is located on the offside of the bulkhead, just round from the drivers door so no need to remove the dash (that is a pain) - as David suggests, the car is built around that speedo which is a no access area! This earth wire was located on one of the screws into the bulkhead but have no idea where the other end went - I should have looked before attempting to clean the end of the wire. I thought it would be securely connected ..... but wasn't.
If I can't find a suitable midget to cram into the foot well to look, I will just have to dose up on painkillers and pretend to be a contortionist. The joys of classic motoring!

Thanks Chris and Nick
Will post a photo of my handiwork when the paint is finished AND I have replaced the 'chrome' strips around the front and rear windows. I do have the tool somewhere, but it is 9 years since I last used it

Had to change the flasher unit a few days ago and there was a feeble earth wire about 12" long under one of the screws. As I was trying to bare extra wire at the end to reattach the whole thing fell off
Bearing in mind i am disabled with limited access to difficult areas, has anyone any idea where the thing should fit? I do know that since it fell off the warning lights and radio don't work.
Most frustrating

Hi,
Another newbie, living on Tyneside.
Had my landcrab for 9 years and am a member of LOCI.. Car actually won best Morris at the first national show I took her to (mind you, there were only 2 Morris entered that year) but hey, I still have the engraved tankard
Having taken her to a local body shop 2 years ago, only to find the sprayer was Blind Pugh, I have spent the last 4 months with heat gun and sander trying to get her back to bare metal. I hired a spray bay in a local garage (can go whenever I need to) and am gradually building up the paint. I am disabled and can only do about 2 hours work a day (followed by several days rest) so it has taken a very long time.
She is used as my daily transport (can't be doing with this modern rubbish where main dealer charges £100 just for a diagnostic printout)
