OK, thanks for the vote of confidence, chaps. I'll carry on, not least because I can see an end in sight.
Not much this weekend due to getting No. 1 twin packed off to University down in Stafford and also sorting out my own stuff ready for round two of the Restoration Course down at Leeds City College starting on Monday. Fun times ahead. Oh, yes - there's the small matter of the engine swap for Ady's Transit van to be dealt with as well. The Station Cars And Motorbikes team (SCAM) are assembling for major work over the course of this week. Replacement engine is due to arrive on Tuesday.....
Chris.

There's a very smart looking car on the back page of the Autumn 2014 LOCI magazine! Maybe a red one next time?
regards

Oh, yes. She looks quite well. This one is starting to look a bit better. Finally got the front of the rear n/s arch tidied up and most of the n/s front wing. Everything looks better with a spot of primer, but now I can see the little blemishes and pinholes which have been missed. Started on the front valance. This may take a while..... I'm going to be able to spend some proper time on it tomorrow (Today!), so I'll get a few pictures. Chris.

Fairly epic day with the filler, DA sander and the sanding blocks. I am now the world's only white and white penguin, with distinguished looking grey hair........ Top edge of sill filled and flatted properly. What welding? Pleased with that. Multiple repairs in there - can't see a thing. Still really chuffed with this. Swage line's come up really well - I did have to re-establish it with some filler due to a bit of heat distortion, so pleased with that. Section under the headlight and across above the shelf all done. O/s of valance almost there. And this end is still all over the place. Overall, pretty pleased. Few more days and I'm going to run out of excuses for not going under the car and getting on with the wire-brushing and rust protection. Chris.

I'm amazed at not just the quality but also the speed at which you work. I guess visibility around N Leeds has been a bit poor recently. David

Cheers, chaps. If I get a good day, I can get plenty done. Could use some more of them. Funny how it works - you plod away at the same old stuff for ages, then all of a sudden........ it's done. And the next bit seems simple but just time consuming. I thought I'd be fillering (sp?) for weeks, but after the "big applications" (Some bits - the valance especially - are way off .) it comes together quite quickly. The valance got flatted back this evening, then the low spots filled, then I found a 6" hollow a bit higher up, so that's had to be levelled out. It's nearly there, honest! I think the next step is going to have to be stripping the engine bay. The brake and fuel lines will have to be replaced and they run under the car, so I need to get that lot out of the way first, so clearing the bay makes sense. It's going to need stripping ready for paint at some point anyway before the engine goes back in. Chris.

Front valance: Not too shabby; in fact, I'd go as far as quite good. Chris.

Cheers, chaps. Made a decent start at emptying the engine bay: Struggling to get the servo off. Wiring and brake lines all out. Fuse box disintegrated when I smiled at it............ Poked a couple of scabs: Retired to computer. Will shortly head to pub....... Chris.

Chris, that's most unlike you. Dont you usually poke scabs and make much bigger holes.
