I got the bumpers back from the plating shop and got them installed, also tried some driving lights. These driving light brackets may not work, I won't be able to tell until I get the grille back. Any suggestions should they not work? And the door handles and mirrors

Lovely, Charly. Spot brackets on my car were just substantial steel strip (4/5mm?), bolting to the back of the over-rider by the retaining bolt: Should be possible to get them bent up if you're not happy with the shiny chrome. Looking good, Chris.

Thanks for the pictures. I'm not sure if my lights will clear the grille with these brackets. We'll see.

I've been playing around with creating a new Austin badge for the front of the car. Now just have to work on painting it.

Nice - good skills. LOCI might be interested in a few of those, as the originals are now fading and cracking badly. P45.

Excellent - I should dig out my new one to give you an impression how they should look. But the one on my 3 litre is very close to new, see:

I've taken some time off while working on my race car and waiting for the grille to come back from the plating shop. This the progress so far with the front and back. Carpeting is also being made as well as interior panels.

Excellent... May I suggest that you give the beige panels behind the grille a lick of black paint? As far as I am aware this was done from the factory to early Mk2 cars - and looks much better!
Regards,
Alexander

Thanks, I may do that. I've done it on my TR6 and Austin America. And while were talking about painting black, I always paint the inside of the door at the bottom up about 2-3 inches with POR15 paint. The paint actually penetrates into the hem at the bottom of the door and protects it very well. It's a little messy, but worth it.

I have taken my motor and tranny out as well, started to disassemble it and got the head off, the timing gear off, rear cover off the clutch/idler gear. Now I can't get the last bolt off that is holding the clutch cover on to the tranny, the rather large one at the bottom. Any tricks? Or is it just stuck?

Where have you got to, Charly? Here? Or here? There's another bolt down the hole next to the bottom gear wheel, there is also a long tie-bolt down at the bottom and outside the casing. Chris.

I've gotten this far.I've tried putting some pressure on the joint in the cases but I'm afraid of damaging them. There is some kind of bolt going through that I can't get out.
