I have now got a run on valve. It should fit into the take off position on the manifold that originally had the emission valve in. I now need to find the original figment that's somewhere in a very messy garage I will report back on its effectiveness when it's fitted.

Had a great weekend at WOCFEST. Beautiful weather, great atmosphere, loads of cars to see. Then this happens. Complete and catastrophoc failure of the rear displacer. I would not mind but it was parked at the time.

Oh dear, story to learn of that. Better there than on the way home though at speed.
We do seem to have heard of a few displaces going in the last couple of years. Hope you get it sorted soon.

Sorry to see this Chris. My only displacer failure was with a parked car - also the rear. Look on the bright side, you saved the cost of the fuel for the return journey and it didn't happen while driving in the rain.
regards
David

I don't think that Tony is going to want this one back.

Bugger! I'm assuming once they get to that state, it's time to go into the bin?

Still up, apparently. Miracles will never cease.
Snoopy was kind enough to let me take it for a spin yesterday and it's obvious that the car has a lot of potential. The single carb stops it revving particularly well at the moment - plenty of mid range grunt, but tapers off. It'll be fascinating to see how this develops.
Chris.

Bit of a crusty bit recently discovered under the car. Now expertly stitched up again by our resident welder.

Had a little issue this week. The rear window wound down ok then got itself jammed in the rails and wouldn't come up. Took the door card off this morning to find that the mechanism had simply slipped off the runners at the base of the glass. Simple enough. Slot them back on card on. Job done. At least that's what I thought. Three hours later with lots of rude words directed at the car and a curse put on whoever designed this bit it's working again. I've skinned my knuckles and cut a finger. There is no finesse in this its just a matter of fiddling. When I get chance I'm going to look at putting some sort of stop on the rail that will stop the window coming down too far and slipping off the rail.
