Getting closer! Click on the picture you wish to post, then click on the curvy arrow thing bottom right. Up pops a screen with the link. Make sure you select BBCode and a sensible size picture (1200 x 1600 works well). Copy the link, paste it on the page..... 20220408_131007 by Louise Hackman, on Flickr Et voila! C.

Hi Louise Car looks great in lots of ways but I can see that you've got some work to do on the interior. Looking at the photos the seals round the windows look new (ish) which is good ..once you get the headlining sorted it's pretty straight forward the only bit I'd struggle with is the headlining (if you decide to replace) but you are hopefully more dextrous than me. In some of the photos the headlining looks ok just dirty/stained so I'd try to clean it (if you haven't already) - there seem to be a variety of different approaches to this on the internet. Multi purpose foam cleaners appear to be the weapon of choice with a steam cleaner with an upholstery attachment as last resort. Sounds soppy but might be worth getting a car detailer / valeter round to have a look - the good ones have all sorts of weird and wonderful chemicals and tricks of the trade in their armoury. Good luck Andrew

At some point one of the previous owners, probably the first had all the underside sprayed with a bitumen (more like tar!!) which where it stuck has kept the car in as new condition which is amazing, now being a woman my terminology probably is not correct so forgive me, but the Austin has what I call sill valences an extra pieces attached to the outer sill, when these were removed to investigate I scrapped all the bitumen type stuff off under the car and I will put the links to the pics as the sills are good still have original paint where the bitumen stuck and basically the whole car is like this underneath www.flickr.com/photos/195571755@N06/shares/s43r4oThe new headlining was sewn at the weekend and roughly tried today, all the bars fit in their clamps and with a bit of jiggling when we fit it properly I think it will look ok, so you will have to wait for pics as that is a few months off yet, replacement vinyl has been purchased for the parcel shelf and around the back seat, and believe it or not that was a chance purchase from ebay with no original intension to use it in the car, I was just going to play around and see if the sewing machine would take it, when it arrived not only did the pattern seem to match but the colour was as near as damit the same what a result, cheap too!! Hope I'm not boring you all, more to follow soon, bye for now Louise.

Underseal/shutz (there are a variety of different names) is good stuff as long as it stays intact. If it hardens and cracks, water gets in underneath and the rust follows in short order. Correct solution is to remove, clean and replace.

What a result on underseal, vinyl and headlining - congratulations. The correct terminology bit is not gender related - just seems to me every industry/trade/profession has their own vocabulary to accurately describe what they're talking about (and simultaneously to make it difficult for anyone else to understand). I'm still picking it up but WhatsApp has made life a lot easier - it's brilliant to be able to send a picture and say "that's the bit I need". Cheers for now Andrew

I think Nick did some flocking on his 'Crab some years ago. I'll see if I can find the posts. Frost do a flocking kit - FROST. C.
