A warm welcome to any new members! Membership of this forum is open to anyone with an interest in BMC/BL cars, primarily of the Landcrab, Maxi and Austin 3 Litre ranges, although talk about other BMC/BL cars is welcomed and encouraged. A few rules though: We reserve the right to remove any users who appear to have registered to plug their businesses or Ebay auctions (spammers). That's not in the spirit of the forum. Please refrain from swearing. Also anyone who appears to have joined to cause keyboard battles between other members and generally wind people up (trolls) will be removed. Best to steer clear of political or religious topics as well. Ok, great. Now enjoy the forum!

The previous post was by Richard, the founder and original administrator of the Landcrabs and Maxi Forum. Due to the particular vagaries of the Proboards system, it is impossible to create a new Admin account without creating a new forum (!), so I now have two accounts on here. Hopefully, it will not prove necessary to use this one much for posting - I will continue with Penguin45 as much as is reasonably possible.
No doubt you will have noticed the changes to the forum recently. The obvious one is the change in colour scheme, I hope it meets with approval. The forum was rather unexpectedly upgraded to Version 5 and the default looked ghastly. After a rather major initial flap, we do now have a well functioning forum again. There have been a few changes, most of which will not affect members using the site. If anything, it is simpler to use.
Some of the more obvious differences are that the default print size has increased (easier to read), recent posts are highlighted in RED, slightly older ones are in BLUE. We have lost the "Last 10 Posts" display, although there is a clickable option down at the bottom. The attachment system now works simply and easily, although linking via a hosting site is preferable, please. YouTube videos will now self-embed from the link, so no faffing about trying to get the code right. Flags pop up for private messages, so you'll see them straightaway.
Guests can now read the forum as before, but must register in order to post. Please do, Mr. Guest.
There are some extra smilies added for your amusement, as well as some default avatars to replace the grey baldy pointy headed men.
As before, bear in mind that this is a car forum. There are plenty of places to go and do politics, religion and other topics likely to cause conflict.
Any problems, PM to Admin for assistance.
Enjoy,
Chris, Penguin45, Admin.

Hello everybody.
I haven't had to use the Admin log-in for a while, but we've had a bit of an update and tidy up.
I've merged a few of the little used boards - Picture Board and Interesting Links - into the Off Topic Board, which is now the General Board. This shortens the homepage somewhat and gives us room to add a Help Needed board. This is to try and help members with specific requirements for help and information to get a response. As usual, the forum has plenty of readers and few posters. I hope that adding this board for specific information will elicit a response amongst you, the members, towards fellow 'Crabbers. If you have an outstanding query which has not been dealt with, please let myself or David know and we'll move it into the Help Needed board for you. Hopefully it will gain a response.
Happy 'Crabbing,
Chris, Penguin45, Admin.
