Hello Team, Have had a little bit of trouble sorting out how to post but seem to be on track now. I am a retired naval officer and we have a small property near Batemans Bay NSW, about 200 miles south of Sydney. I have a 1971 Austin 1800 Mk2 (auto), probably one of the last produced at BMC Zetland. It is in very good condition and is a daily runner when I need it. I had a 1966 Mk1 many years ago and found it very reliable, not so the Austin Kimberly which replaced it. Will sort out a couple of photos and post them if this post is successful. Cheers, Ward

Hi Ward
Welcome to the Forum!
I'm glad to see you have sorted out your posting issues and even managed to include a photo. It would be nice to see some more when you have the opportunity.
regards
David

Thanks David, will send a couple more when I can - the quick reply function does not seem to allow me to add photos. Do I need to create a new thread?

Hi Ward,
Welcome aboard. Use the green "Reply" button - all functions are enabled. Easiest and most reliable way of uploading pics is to use a hosting site - Photobucket, Flickr and the like are popular and easy to use.
Chris.

Greetings Everyone I have just found this forum and it looks pretty good too. We have 2 1/2 1800's. (The half is a MkI 1800 sedan which I am using for parts). The others are a MkII sedan which my wife uses as her "daily runner" and a MkI Utility which I am restoring. It is currently running but not registered. In addition we have a 1954 Wolseley 6/80 and a 1960 Armstrong Siddeley Star Sapphire. We have purchased all of our "classics" sight unseen and have never been really caught out. The last one was the Star which we purchased from a car dealer in Dublin, Ireland. Even though it was 52 years old when it arrived in Australia it only had 36,000 miles (authenticated) on the odometer. But we have added another 6,000 miles in the last two and a half years. A few photos of our cars (and us, too) can be seen at tinyurl.com/lxmzs2b We live a few kilometres from Bega in southern New South Wales.

Welcome to the Forum, you are our first new member for 2015! Thanks for posting the link to the photos of your cars, I think you are very brave to buy classics unseen as some of the restoration projects here reveal. It would be good, if in due course, you have a chance to post photos of your Ute restoration progress. There is a section dedicated to owners' restorations. regards David Greetings Everyone I have just found this forum and it looks pretty good too. We have 2 1/2 1800's.
