I'm approaching the big moment when I fit a battery and after 20 + years the engine will burst into song !!!! Probably. Looking for a battery I checked back issues of the LOCI magazine to find Tony's specification on the correct battery to fit. He mentions that to fit a larger battery with a base of 175mm wide you need to have a 'Paul Cope' mounting. I've never heard of such as thing has anybody?
Take care Mike

It'll be to do with the damper-end mounting, Mike. There have been a couple of attempts to get away from the original rubber block over the years. There are a couple of useful pictures IN THIS THREAD. All that said, the 053 listed for the Nissan Micra fits comfortably and has power aplenty. Just don't fit an 038. It will physically fit, but it's meant for spinning cute little "A" series engines in Minis, not the humungous great lump of cast iron in out cars! Chris.
