Now you've probably eaten and maybe drunk too much and been dragged around the sales it's surely time to think of your Landcrabs again. What goodies have you (or Santa ) bought or plan to buy them, new tyres, panels, gearboxes, fluffy toys etc?

I finished the electrical work on the white one, just before Christmas. Now the heater runs faster than it used to and the indicators, brake lights etc don't make the charging light glow dimly. I also guess I've got a better spark, as the voltage drop at the coil is eliminated.
Next thing on the list is to install the radio again and fit a cigarette lighter, for charging purposes:-)I'm also thinking of installing an extra temperature gauge. I seem to get some different readings from different instrument voltage stabilizer, so who knows what's correct? I'm running an 88 degree thermostat know, and the needle is a bit on the hot side of the 'N', so I'll get back to 82 degrees. No arctic winter so far here, so a standard thermostat will do these days I think. If not I've got an original grille muff!
I took it for a spin yesterday as whe have a mild Christmas here, with no salt on the road. Great fun as I've not driven it since early October. I want to keep it off the salt, as it's never been welded and has not a single spot of rust. I do however fit studded tyres to it, in case it has to come out during winter, if the 600 TI breaks down. Luckily the Rover is another quality car which never lets me down.
If the mild weather continues I'd be able to heat the garage up and paint the annoying grey primed front door on the 1800.
So, that's an update from the not frozen land of the north! Happy holidays everyone..

Excellent news Tommy! It's been really cold here for 2 weeks already down to 10-11C and there are no heaters in the car and I only have one electric oil filled radiator and there are none left in the shops. Most unusual.
You could always try and calibrate your temperature gauge by inserting the sender in a bowl of water at known temperatures. The voltage regulators for the instruments should show an average of 10 volts if working properly.

Unseasonably mild for Tommy, Unseasonably cold for David. Seasonally rubbish for me here. The Landcrab will have to wait for a bit as last night the wind kindly called in and took half the garden fence away; now the rain is hammering the windows as I type. Still a lot of places in the UK have had floods, or no power for a week so I am not complaining.

Nick, sorry about your garden fence and the rain. A bit warmer here last night but no electricity or mains water for reasons unknown. All back to normal now fortunately and I mustn't complain either as I cannot begin to imagine how it must be in the UK with bitterly cold water flooding peoples houses.
