Hi All,
My car has just developed a problem with the wipers, the car is an Austin 1800 Mk2 1969.
The car is fitted with the "round type" wiper motor with the "screw on" parking switch. The gear is marked 110 degree.
Problem is, the wipers have all of a sudden become
very slow (they often stop in "mid flow" and need manually pushing or pulling to complete their "cycle") .The wipers now no longer complete their sweep/arc, they stop their sweep approx three quarters of the way across the screen and they return to the start position.
The wipers park correctly when they are switched off. But the whole thing is agonisingly slow!No real difference if you click them on to the high speed setting.
What type/model of wiper motor is it I have?
I have found a number of replacement wiper motors with the "clip on" type parking switch but the ones with the "screw on" type do not seem to be available on the "replacement spares" market, but it could be that I'm not looking in the right place!
Are replacements available with the "screw on" parking switch or do I have to source different type of replacement and do some modifications ?
Is my problem down to the motor, the parking switch or the wiring?
Believe me! any help will be gratefully received, thanks
Cheers
Chrish
