Stupid question, maybe.

I see in the LOCI magazine that there are plastic high pressure hydrolastic interconnecting pipes available. If these are flexible, would it not be possible to weld a rigid pipe to a damaged hydrolastic unit to join with one of these to remove the most common failure point? Stupid and sensible answers here please
