Yes you are never going to vac it with that short a pot life! I believe there are different types that have a more extended pot life. It is a bit like epoxy I think where you get a better bond if it sets slower too. I expect the hobby market does not want to wait forever for the stuff to set so that is why its more like the 5 minute epoxy times.
Looking forward to seeing what other parts you can bring back for us Chris.

I believe the official line was that it reduced the transmission of the engine vibrations into the shell - similar thinking to the use of cables for the gear change. Not the greatest of ideas it turned out. From a safety perspective it allowed the "lump" to break free in a severe collision which is reported to have advantages - probably not intended, just fortuitous? David Well done Chris. Looks pukka. What I always wondered was why the engine mounts were in shear when they could have the motor sat on mounts. I suppose it stops the fore and aft waggle but if they were at 45 degrees maybe? Idle thoughts. Bet you’re wondering what to do next.

Re the engine mounts. As your sketch etc. My thoughts exactly. Is the bolt through the middle for safety purposes?

Presumably to hold it if the rubber breaks? Being rubber, I suppose it will deteriorate over time.

Been off down to Cornwall for a few days helping out the aged parents. Car has run very nicely, just a sip of oil required. 34 to the gallon for a 680 mile round trip isn't at all bad, which meant I could just have gone each way on one tank of fuel. Anyway, significant events: Speedo Readings by Penguin 45, on Flickr Oo oo - nearly. Speedo Readings by Penguin 45, on Flickr Yay! Speedo Readings by Penguin 45, on Flickr Who needs James Bond?

Pretty sure it's the first time round. 55K up to 2003 when it went off the road, so I've put on 45K since it went back on the road in 2015.

Cracking. A genuine low mileage car. Apparently it's out of warranty. Fitted the bump stops on the car this morning. Bump Stops by Penguin 45, on Flickr Top one unbolted and let the new one go straight on. Bottom one needed the broken stumps fo the bolts drilling out and re-tapping. Tap at the bottom - I've taken better pictures. Bolts slathered with copperslip in case they ever have to come out again. Bump Stops by Penguin 45, on Flickr And a short while later. Pleased with that. Chris.

I take no credit for the following - MrsP did it with her Brother Scan'n'Cut machine. All I did was to find an unused original gasket - quite tricky in itself - for patterning. Selector housing gasket.Selector housing gasket by Penguin 45, on Flickr The white ones are test pieces. The machine scans the original, Julia then manipulated the image and set it up for four to show on an A4 sheet. The machine then chopped these out of a sheet of card. That's a handy piece of kit. Are you aware of the gasket patterns on the Oz website here. The can be resized using the pegboard grid as a reference. David

Those bump stops look pukka. Good info on the Aussie site. Need someone cleverer than me to transcribe them though!
