Got the twins staying for a few days. Makes re-hanging doors much simpler. VOF707J by Penguin 45, on Flickr Slow progress with the rear wing. Scabs under the gutter line and below the corner of the rear screen are being a pest. I did fix the flap on the petrol flap lock. It all strips apart and just needed a very thorough clean in order to allow full travel. Simples. Chris.

Very nice to see Snoopy today. Been quite a while. He didn't do any polishing. Well, he'd got his work togs on. Set to a bit later on this rear wing. VOF707J by Penguin 45, on Flickr Stoppering. VOF707J by Penguin 45, on Flickr Extensive flatting back of the high build primer. VOF707J by Penguin 45, on Flickr Two coats of standard primer, also flatted back. VOF707J by Penguin 45, on Flickr Starting the top coats - lining off around the edges to start with. VOF707J by Penguin 45, on Flickr And after the first coat. It's now had three coats and is much more even. VOF707J by Penguin 45, on Flickr Not forgetting the petrol flap. Leaving it all to fully dry over night and I'll see if I can get a shine on it tomorrow. Chris.

VOF707J by Penguin 45, on Flickr Fairly happy with that. Dusty again already. Might have to wash it when I'm finished. Bootlid should be the last panel. VOF707J by Penguin 45, on Flickr Just the one grotty bit to deal with. Choppy choppy. VOF707J by Penguin 45, on Flickr New flange added, corner piece welded home. Pleased with that. VOF707J by Penguin 45, on Flickr Bit of filler, flatted and primed. Get it into paint tomorrow. Chris.

Cheers Tony. I'm rather worried about the state of the one on Eugenie. We'll find out soon. This one's come up a treat. VOF707J by Penguin 45, on Flickr Three coats, progressively rubbed back to 2500 grit and compounded. Not been polished yet. Both rear wings finished. VOF707J by Penguin 45, on Flickr VOF707J by Penguin 45, on Flickr Shiny shiny. It's a bird thing. Both compounded then polished. A lot. Trouble is, I'll now have to go back round the rest of the car to get it to the same standard. Flatting and polishing is not enough. Pretty happy overall though. C.

Shocking. Don't do that at home - or anywhere else for that matter. Looks suspiciously like a 'Crab boot lid to me.... Compounded the doors. And the front wing. And the sill. Then polished. And polished. And polished. And then I woke up. VOF707J by Penguin 45, on Flickr VOF707J by Penguin 45, on Flickr VOF707J by Penguin 45, on Flickr VOF707J by Penguin 45, on Flickr Actually, I did do all that. Which let me do this. Pics don't do it justice, what with all the reflection and glare. Pretty chuffed with that. Where's your stripe then, Tony? They won't be twins if you haven't got a stripe. Better turn her round and do the other side. Chris.

Snoopy's speaking a foreign language again. VOF707J by Penguin 45, on Flickr Stripe done down the near side. VOF707J by Penguin 45, on Flickr Nothing fancy - picked this up in the local factors. Do use a quality masking tape to line it off with - I splashed out on some of that Frog tape. Stops any creepage. I scuffed the area to be painted with some 600 grit wet and dry to create a key, and then built up the paint in three applications. Be aware that the overspray will go a long way! VOF707J by Penguin 45, on Flickr Been working across the front. A few scabs and some flaky paintwork. VOF707J by Penguin 45, on Flickr And after two coats of Damask. Have had to do a blend into the sides of the wings on both sides, so that'll have to be flatted and compounded again, as well as across the front. So we'll leave that alone until tomorrow and see how it looks. Might have to have a look at the back..... C.
