Hi All
Just a few lines to say hello and thanks for accepting me into the Forum.
I've owed many varients of the Landcrab since about 1987 when my second car after passing my test was a "Harvest Gold" Morris Mk3.Over the years this has been followed by an 1970 Austin Mk2S, a 1973 Wolseley Six and I'm currently the owner of a 1969 Mk2 Austin 1800.
This looks a very friendly and helpful forum and I'm very impressed with a number of the replies to a number of the technical questions.
I am at this time doing the "Front End" resto on my 1800 and found the pictures of the rotten cross members featured in other "threads" very familiar. Now, during the course of removing the valance/cross member I had to cut out the drivers side bumper iron and its totally U\S. Does anyone have a drivers side front bumper iron for a 1969 Mk2 Austin they want to sell on please (or a pair of front bumper irons)? I have already asked Tony Wood but I think I maybe out of luck (Thanks for trying Tony) Cheers!
Great to be here! Best regards Chrish
Here in the UK!

Chrish, A warm welcome to the forum from me. It would probably be worth starting a thread on your car in "Your Cars, Restorations and Rebuilds" and share the story from there. I'll beat Chris C to it this time and say that pictures are essential. Depends where you are based but if it is the UK then here is a link to Balby motor spares who have a number of Austin Morris and Wolseleys for breaking. They ought to have the bits you need. Hi Chrish, welcome. God only knows how many Chris's there are on the forum now............
I think there's a bumper iron lurking on a shelf in the garage somewhere. It'll be a bit of a lump to stick in the post, mind. They're not handed, BTW - turn it over for left or right.
As Nick says, pics very welcome.
Enjoy, Chris (1).

Hi Chrish
Welcome! As Nick says photos are a must! Anyone remember the Fiat advert for making cars by robots where everyone on the assembly line was called Robert? I see Chris our administrator has designated himself as Chris (1).
regards

Hmm - I think that might be for the rear as it's kinked. What do you reckon? Chris.

Welcome Chris As for the bumper iron, can't help you I'm afraid. But on a side note, I think my rear ones mine have been cut and welded back together at some stage =/ Must be something that'd be fairly simple for a workshop to knock up? if one can get the dimensions -Andrew
