Hello from the Prairies! I live in Saskatchewan, where Austins, or any imported cars are few and far between. Mostly I'm a BMW guy, but I found a 1967 1800 for sale, and thought it would be a fun car for running around gravel roads. It hasn't moved under it's own power yet, but I have hope...

Good luck with that - it'll be a rare car on your side of the pond.
It isn't a sports or even a sporting car, but the suspension provides the most extraordinarilly comfortable ride, even on gravel roads.
I noted your engine problem in your second post - the engine is adapted from the B series fitted to the MGB, so parts are freely available worldwide as the the MGB did make a reasonable attempt at taking over the world.
Welcome aboard,
Chris.

Hi, welcome to the forum, dont give up get the Austin running.
Issigonis the designer always claimed it was the car he was most proud of.
They handle like a big Mini, with a better ride, it is the car I feel safest in.
They are greatly underestimated. If you need advice please ask.
Regards Kels.

Welcome! I believe the LOCI do most parts at reasonable prices, also I've used a UK company called Earlpart before and have had good service from them. You may find if it's been standing for a few years the suspension may have collapsed, usually it's either the pipes or displacers, both of which are available from the Landcrab Club. As has been said the engine is mostly standard MGB stuff. Good luck!

Hello! I think there is a guy in PEI that can source some parts for you as well. His details are on the LOCI website.

Hey, thanks for the welcome! Yes, the 1800's are pretty scarce here. I have a lead on a basket case parts car. I'll try and get it once I have a place for a rusty heap. It looks like hitting 0 degrees tomorrow, so I'll try and get some work done on my cars.

Positively warm is 0 degrees - you lucky devil. ;D
There is a Newfy on the LOCI site selling parts (for some years). I've never enquired as I imagine that the postage would be a bit of a killer to the UK - might be more affordable for you?
Chris.

Hi to 'Hi from Canada' Just returned from a Calgary visit, back in California now and ready to work on my 1967 1800 - and 18/85 Wolseley that needs back glass. If you find some suppliers or just parts on our continent, please pass along the info. shipping from Australia or the UK is stunningly pricey. Best to you Tim "etechtim"

Hi Faberferrum,
I just found this site and saw your message. I'm from Montreal, and I'm restoring an 1800 more or less from the ground up. I haven't read all your posts, but I see you've had some engine problems. Let me know if you need anything. I have three engines and a ton of parts. I've been playing with these cars long enought that if I don't have it, I can probably help you find it!
