Hi Paul, I've got a couple of connector blocks out in the garage if you need them. It's unlikely that the blocks themselves are faulty, mind you. The individual connectors can be removed for inspection or replacement. They have a locking latch which can be depressed by a small screwdriver inserted from the front of the block. It's worth noting the very excellent VEHICLE WIRING PRODUCTS. They can supply all the connectors you're likely to need. I do have a spare fuse box, but it's in worse nick than yours! TommyDP kindly came up with a decent used one to solve my problem. Chris.

Thanks Chris I had a spare one next to the three with cables in which i swapped but it was slightly different it had a yellow dot where as the one i took out had a white dot(fell apart looks like it had got got and gone brittle), i have looked on VWP they dont seem to supply the right blocks but i will look again on line. I spoke to Tony Wood the other week and he said he has some connectors but not the bulkhead connector/fusebox. I have just sent for a solenoid to see if thats the problem. The major issue is that when i turn the key the engine just clicks and is intermittent all of a sudden it will start. It starts on the soleniod but not always on the key. I have changed the ignition barrel but as you can see the wiring is a mess and that can't be good. It would be nice to get a bulkhead unit as mine is literaly falling apart i will keep looking. Thanks for the info i may be in touch about the connector blocks Paul

Hi Paul!
Sounds like the solenoid to me.. I had the same on my white one. Started on the solenoid button, but only now and then on the key.
I checked current from the ignition swith at the "start wire" at the solenoid, using a test lamp. It was fine, so I cleaned all the connections on the solenoid. Since then, no more trouble.
Good luck!
Tommy:-)
