Hey there lads, got a workmate with a Maxi who's trying to remove the gear selector rods so he can get the exhaust manifold off.
The Haynes book of lies tells him to remove some pins with a nail punch, but it seems the otherside is blocked and there isn't enough room for the pins to come out (if that makes sense).
Any ideas?
Cheers,
-Andrew

I assume he has moved the gear stick to rotate the rod? Never looked at a Maxi so just guessing
regards

It's the same set up as the rod change 'Crab, Indy.
Punch and hammer - drive out the roll pin. Replace with new one - they're only pence. Top rod bolts through a rubber bush and that can be a real s@d to get off.
Chris.
