Hi all! A bit quiet here at present, so I thought I'd share some pics for you to enjoy! I'm sorry I haven't been very active myself. I've spent some weeks in Costa Blanca, Spain. It was lovely! Needless to say, we enjoyed it massively. The weather up here has been a disaster so far this summer. Anyway, I'm now enjoying some time with the cars. The blue one is in daily use, and has actually behaved for quite a while- touch wood! It has a new, genuine old stock carb and I now run the original spec 25 D distributor rather than the 45 D. I set the points with feeler gauges only and smacked it in at 7 degrees BTDC statically (9 degrees original, retarded a couple due to unleaded petrol). It's been fine since that and performs very well. Perhaps simple solutions really are the best, as we say here.. We'll see:-) The white one is put on hold, as I now enjoy the blue one. I will also have the Marina through the "MOT" next week. About time, I've had it for 4 years.. I've also decided to dismantle and scrap the spares car. Too bad perhaps, but I can't save them all. It's almost rust free though.. Hope you're well, all of you! Hope you enjoy the pics! Tommy. Recently fitted mudflaps! I have some kind of mudflap fetish, LOL! Look at that big old Swede trapped by a bunch of British cars:-)

Nice photos. Strange how the Landcrabs seem to age far more gracefully than the newer cars, maybe I am just a little biased Good to her you enjoyed your Spanish holiday, the UK has been awash recently so you're not alone. Regards David

I've also decided to dismantle and scrap the spares car. Is the front cross member any good? The one on Reckless is past saving.

Oh, dear... It's far better than your's for sure. It doesn't seem to have rust on it at all. I will, however, try to sell/ give away the complete chassis as it's very good. We'll see.
It has had a front end damage though. Although it has been fixed,I'm not sure if it's straight. The impact must have been hard, as there are quite deep dents from the driveshafts/ gearbox onto the bulkhead/ displacer tubing.. It's a mystery how it has happened, as the wings appear original.
Regards, Tommy

I saw something vaguely like this damage years ago in a scrap yard. The wings were straight so I wondered why it was there as it looked fine at first glance. Apparently the owner had hit a raised manhole cover or similar at high speed with the sump /gearbox casing which amazingly remained intact but forced the shafts etc up into and dented the crossmember. Maybe an answer? Regards David Oh, dear... It's far better than your's for sure. It doesn't seem to have rust on it at all. That sounds logical, Dave! Makes me want to fit the sump guard which is somewhere in my spares department... :-)
