Actually, I'm pretty sure the mudflap design is original! As we know it does not have to make sense because of that...
I once came across a pile of NOS Leyland mudflaps at an autojumble and had a good laugh at the cutouts for the exhaust on Maxi and Allegro flaps:-)
I really like mudflaps! The ones on the Allegro were made in Norway I think and sold through Leyland distributors. All cars had to have rear mudflaps here up to the late seventies. My father once told how he was followed by the police on his way back home after work once in the early 70s. He had lost a mudflap and got a fine for driving with only one...

I'm still looking about for some rear ones. They all have BL on them that I can find - my car is a BMC one.

This bloke has flaps in stock, no BMC unfortunately. They are not cheap.. He also makes new ones, so I'm sure he could make some with the BMC logo on but at a price I guess.. No one like this in the UK then , Chris? I could always check out price and possibility of producing BMC flaps if you like. PS! Click on "skvettlapper" on the left hand menu. This is Norwegian for mudflaps:-) www.velosiped.no/skvettlappside/Regards, Tommy.

Though I have been tempted to remove my BL badges...

Cheers, guys.
I'm not that bothered, really. It's just one of those little "back of the mind" things which you casually keep an eye out for.
One day......
