This is an interesting picture I found. I'm not sure what car show it is or what year.

She's in the boot of a Triumph GT6 HERE. It's the Austin 2200, BTW, Charly. Same car, 6 cylinder "E" series engine, ghastly brush nylon/velour interior. Chris.

A good history of the car. We never saw the Maxi or that motor here in the US, or at least not that I know of. Thanks

There is an article about Western diesel locomotives posted on AROnline Here today. Note in the foreground of the main picture a two tone Landcrab. Usually I am not keen on non standard modifications but I think that as a period piece this looks fantastic. It would be great if someone reproduced it on a car today Nick

It used to be quite common for people to have half respray - up to the body stripe as the cars rusted in the lower areas.Maybe this was an example although usually they kept to the same colour. I lived close to the railway (ex GWR) when I grew up and some steam train drivers used to let us ito the cabs in the sidings and even move the trains a short distance. Imagine that now with health and safety. We learned to look after ourselves. In the early 60s I climbed into the cab of a diesel hydraulic which was probably less than 2 years old and talk about oil leaks the floor was awash and it was a slippery as ice. Much worse than a crab engine leak David
