Hi Everybody,
My name is Ian McGee and I'm from Montreal, Canada. I'm restoring a 1970 Austin 1800. I've owned it since 1996, and have been playing with it ever since. But the time has come to get serious about it, and I hope to have it on the road in 2013.
I also have a 2200 six-cylinder engine and gearbox, and I hope someday to put that in if the 1800 lump ever wears out. If anyone out there can help me with details of engine mountings, etc, for the six, I'd love to hear from you. I know it will never be a totally authentic 2200, but I don't really care. The engine was an impulse buy - Ten pounds on E-Bay, nobody bidding on it, I couldn't resist it!
Best regards,
Ian

Welcome Ian! Have you looked in the workshop manual for the engine mount details? I'm sure we can do you a scan of that page if it's any help? There's another chap in Australia that picked up a Six without engine that is in a similar position.

Hi Keef,
Nice to hear back from you so quickly! You must be up really early over in the UK! Yes, have the 2200 Workshop manual, but it doesn't help too much. What I would like is the Parts Manual. I have an 1800 one, but it doesn't cover the 2200. Did they print paper books for the 2200's or was everything only on microfiche? I've never found one for the 2200, (and I've looked!)
I will be visiting the UK for a few days in November and attending the big Classic car show at the Birmingham NEC. (I plan to join the Landcrab Owners Club while I'm there.) Are you going?
If there is a paper book for the 2200, I'd be more than willing to buy one, (even a Xerox or .pdf scan) while I'm over there.
Best regards
Ian

Won't be at the NEC myself, but I'm sure if you drop LOCI a line (Tony the spares guy is now on email!) they will be able to advise and possibly supply at the NEC.
