Hey guys, Righto, now that I have got the suspension and steering sorted, I wanna take a peak at some carb/igintion issues. For some reason after she's been running for a while she seems to struggle when I put the foot right down. I'm thinknig she's running a bit lean? what do you think? Also I think I have carb controls sticking, so will need to take that apart and oil it up. Any other tips would be great thanks guys! -Andrew

Try reading this thread (it's very long!); just do one thing at a time and check the car again. You will definitely need a timing light, a compression tester and a colourtune and vacuum gauge are very handy.
regards
David

Have a timing light, and someone down the line replaced my clock with a vacuum gauge (not sure how good it is etc, though seems to work fine) Compression tester is on my list, but what is a colourtune? -Andrew

Sorry here's the link landcrabs.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=189A Colourtune is a spark plug with a clear quartz windown that allow you to see the colour of the burning mixture. Yellow too rich, white too weak, blue correct. Plenty on Ebay www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=colourtune&_sacat=0&_odkw=coloutune&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313(Also spelled Colortune) regards David Try reading this thread (it's very long!); just do one thing at a time and check the car again.
