Hi all,
Can anyone tell what tyre size I need with 15" rims? I've heard there can be problems with wheels scrubbing on full lock e.t.c. 185/65/15's seem to be fairly cheap and plentiful.

What do you want to do to this poor car? It sits on 13" or 14" wheels. SD1 wheels will fit - no idea what tyres will suit.

If you want wider tyres you'll have to try what fits. Fitment is very tight front and rear. If they don't scrub on the inner wings, there might be problems with scraping on the lip over (severe) bumps. And: Make sure to have a standard sized, working spare, as this will be needed in case of Hydrolastic fluid loss, where any wheel larger than standard will limit the turning circle to next to nothing...

PS: I have been through this with a VP 1300 running on Allegro sized tyres (165/70R13).

The car looks tatty, I dont ever think it will be a concours contender without a huge amount of expenditure and effort so I don't think a little customisation would be such a bad thing. I'm looking into fitting it with some period alloys such as slotmags. There are a set of 15"s on ebay but looking at them I don't think the offset look right for a crab.
