The original VIN plate on my car, mounted on the radiator Cowell, is very tatty indeed. Although the number is readable, the black print is virtually worn off and the maker, Morris Motors, Cowley etc, is unreadable.
I'm sure it's the original plate as it has very fine letter and number stamping all neat and straight, possibly made on a machine.
I have a new blank plate but only have access to the thick stamps that are used with a hammer. That would buckle and distort the new plate and leave a reverse of the impressions on the back. Does anyone have knowledge of how I could get a professional looking VIN plate created??

I think MINIMINE are the people you want. Pretty sure they made me a new engine number plate and a quick check shows they do chassis tags as well. Chris.

Thanks for the info. The vin and commission number plates on my car (1966 Morris) Have what appears to be stamped plates. Hmmmmm? Should they be of the reverse embossed type, brail? On a car of that year and make. I'd like to get this correct. Maybe you could have a look at what type is on yours and let me know.
Thanks
Jeff

Ahhh, done some research and answered my own question. Austin's were given reversed embossed vin numbers..early Morris's had stamped plates from above, same as Mini's. Sorry, don't know about Wolseley variants.
