Hi guys,
Is is possible to replace the rear rebound rubbers and bump stops with the suspension in situ? I haven't had chance to get under yet but I suspect one, or both are missing on the nearside at least.
I had to drive along a path where the surface has a speed bump and the track changes level either side. As I passed over the hump at lowish speed onto the lower level part of the path, there was a noticeable bang as the nearside rear wheel went over and the car settled. There isn't any noise or problems on normal roads.
Although I use this path often, it's normally not in the landcrab.
I changed all the front suspension rubbers a while ago but haven't had cause to replace anything at the rear, until now.
Thanks
Jeff

If you lift one side of the car fully and deflate the suspension, you can (just) get your fingers in. You'll certainly have to manipulate the trailing arm to create enough room. Even without the wheel, it's still heavy.
Drop me a PM if you'd like some super duper poly bump stops.
Chris.

Thanks Chris, Does that apply to both rebound rubbers and bump stop? It's not clear from the wm or parts pics if both are accessible.
I'll have a look and see what's missing. If I'm not happy with what I find, I'll change both sides. I will pm you with my requirements when I've had a good poke.
Jeff.

The cone at the front undoes from behind the rear seat upright. The ridged one at the rear is bolted through the aluminium carrier, above the trailing arm. Awkward but doable. The only real problems will come if the nuts are seized, as the base plates will spin inside the housing. Lots of proper penetrating fluid first (Not WD40).

Cheers Chris. It's getting on for 30 years since I've had landcrab rear suspension out, but typical, awkward is always awkward. Knowing my luck the rubbers will be long gone and the base plates still there. ☹️
