Hi All, a new member to the forum here, after many years of being a mini fan, my constantly enlarging frame needed a larger, more comfortable drive to take me around in stately comfort, and having a bit of a taste for the unusual, and a BMC addiction in general, I have picked myself up a 1970 Mk1 Austin Kimberley Auto in Damask Red, well, ok I bought it almost a year ago as a project and have only just found you all hiding here in the shadows. The body is pretty, good, I have had to fabricate a new boot floor and weld that in (it sat in a farm paddock in the weather for quite a few years, and the boot was left open. I have a couple of small patches in some other areas and that's it, but mechanically it's a full rebuild and the interior is, well, let us say it has seen better days, and possibly even its worst days have passed, now its atrocious. Interestingly, my car is the 125th Kimberley off the production line, complianced in November 1970, and first registered in the same month, so it must have been one of the very first on the road as they were only released for sale on the 24th Nov according to some period car magazines (Wheels and Motor). Anyway, that is my car story, I will be asking stupid questions from time to time, and picking some brains for info/parts (engine gaskets seem to be an issue) locations and hopefully helping others in return with a bit of knowledge I have picked up over the last 50 years.

Welcome along, Paul. Don't think we've had a Kimberley yet.
The only stupid questions are the ones you don't ask - feel free!
Pics welcome, but please post through a hosting service - Flickr or the like - as we have very limited storage capacity.
Chris.

Welcome Paul. I am looking forward to seeing the car on here. As Chris said you are the first Kimberley.
