Hi everyone, yet another new owner logging on. I bought a Wolseley 18/85 some weeks ago, without going to look at it. It's a lhd version with an auto box. The state of the sills, in particular, is worse than I had hoped for, due to severe rust. Am in the process of taking a few photos of the current state of the car and will post them once I get a Flickr account sorted properly. Best regards, BrianR

Welcome to the forum BrianR! If you have a read of the section on rust you will be able to see how the sills can be replaced and it also highlights other possibly hidden areas that you need to check out.

Thanks Dave & Chris. I already started looking at the amazing restoration projects that members have undertaken. Chris's 'red dog' project, in particular, was of epic proportions. Looking at the pictures, I never thought that that car could be brought back from the dead. I now see that my own car has sills that are possibly in a worse state than 'red dog' was, but I probably would still have bought it, even if I have gone to see it. There will be rust elsewhere, of course, but I have to start somewhere. The new 'Help' section is welcome, so I expect to be using that in the near future. All the best Brian.
