Edit: NOW SOLD - No longer available This is a rare 1972 Austin 2200. It was new on 7/4/1972 then bought 2 years later on 6/4/1974 by my Grandmother and has been in the family since. It was put on SORN over 20 years ago (2000 or 2001) parked in a garage and hasn't moved since.
I believe it was parked up because of a front suspension fault. A local mechanic said he could fix it but would have to cut off the wing which he would have difficulty replacing.
It's been in a garage all the time so it's been protected from the elements, but time has taken its toll. The suspension seems to have dropped on the drivers side, the drivers side sill looks very bad and there's quite a bit of rust generally. On the positive it's complete, relatively straight and the interior is in pretty good shape. Also I've checked that the engine isn't seized. It's complete with 2 sets of keys, V5 and drivers handbook.
I'm selling it on behalf of my Uncle who's decided it's time to move it on. I'll try to answer any questions and can check anything/take pictures of any specific part you may need to know about, but you might have to wait a week or so until I can go to check it. Hi Martin,
Welcome aboard and thank you for the pics and advert. I hope it will be of interest to at least one of the members. Nice to hear some of the story as well. I can't imagine why a mechanic would want to cut the wing off for a suspension fault!
I have taken the liberty of spam-proofing your email address. This is a publicly accessible forum and the "bots" may well pick up on obvious email addresses - then you get spammed forever more!
Chris.

Thanks for that Chris and the welcome.
It was a long time ago to remember exactly what the suspension issue was or why the wing would need cutting, but at the time it was just an 'old car' rather than a classic and it was cheaper to get something else.
It would be great if someone could save it, but I appreciate the work involved!
