Hello there everyone. New member on look out for a landcrab to tow my 60s caravans. Unfortunately they're thin on the ground here in Northern Ireland.

Welcome board, Ian.
You're an "A" series man, I suspect! Minis? Metros? Our "B" engine is really just a big "A", so nothing to be scared off.
If you're a LOCI member, you could ask the membership secretary to put you in contact with Paddy Gordon. He's a serial 'Crab owner in NI and usually has one or two cars available. Be prepared for a long chat.
Enjoy the forum,
Chris.

Just a quick note about tow balls that as a classic caravan owner in sure you will be aware of but someone in the future may not be. There are two sizes: the old inch and 7/8ths ball (47.5mm) and the newer 50mm ball. The new 50mm hitch will not fit the old ball correctly or safely I don’t think that the 17/8” has been used since the 70’s but it is possible that a classic ball / bracket sourced from somewhere may be one To confuse things more there is an alco type hitch that needs a longer neck on the tow ball to prevent the hitch hitting the bumper
