Hi all, There is an irritating buzz/ rattles in my Morris MK1 dash. I tracked one down to the long finishing strip which houses the clock. On removal I found its held in by clips which have spring tangs. Looking at the manual they enter a retainer which is fitted to holes in the metal dash frame.
These retainers are missing and an attempt to make do with washers was unsuccessful. Does anyone know where I might might find such items?? Tony Wood of LOCI has had a search but so far hasn't found anything.. Maybe other members have come across this and found an alternative fix. I did wonder if a similar arrangement was used on the MK1 Austin 1100 which uses a similar narrow finishing strip.
Any help to shed light on where I might find 2 or 3 retainers and or clips complete, or even a suggested fix would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Jeff

Have a browse on BRESCO. They have a quite staggering range of trim clips and retainers. Chris.

Thanks Dave, I think Tony had a good look on Bresco but alas didn't find any. I think my best bet is hope a scrapper might turn up with the retainers still there. Other than that, I'm sure I've seen something in flat-pack furniture where a plastic plug is used that has a pair of springy lugs and a hole in the middle. Failing that, I will have to revert to my ancient engineering skills and come up with something. I will have a good think and experiment and if I find a solution, will post it with pics. Where there's a will, there's a way or....a relative.

MkIDash by Penguin 45, on Flickr Looks like you're looking for 17 or/and 18. Not finding anything when googling the part numbers. Chris.

Thanks for the info Chris. Looks like I might have a go with bits from self assembly furniture.
