Hi all
Can anyone help as I have been told by a mechanic that the noise when going over bumps is down to issues with the manual steering rack and that it now requires a replacement.
Anyone who knows where I can find one (same as all landcrab models) please can you let me know and I will happily purchase.
Thanks guys
Terry

Hi Terry, welcome aboard.
All that is likely to be wrong is that the bearing bush on the nearside end of the rack has worn with age and the rack is now moving vertically as well as laterally. To check, get hold of the gaiter and see if the bar coming through will move up and down. If it does, that's your problem. If it is, drop me a PM as I have an updated bush available. It's an afternoon's work to sort out. I'd fit new gaiters at the same time - the MGB ones are identical and cheap.
New or refurbished racks are thin on the ground now, which reflects in the price when they do pop up.
Chris.
