How are we all doing? Britain seems to be freezing slowly into a solid lump and most of us aren't going into the garage. I've got quite a potent fan heater in mine and it isn't really helping. About ten minutes and my hands have frozen and gone to sleep. Got an on/off project going in the house, but supplies are a bit erratic, so that's not progressing as fast as it might.
I imagine our Antipodean members are having the opposite problem, being the height of summer. Too hot to go restoring!
The Forum is a bit quiet as a consequence, so let's hear what you are up to. It doesn't have to be about cars.
Stay safe and well everybody,
Chris.

Last bit (the front axle) just arrived from USA for the Model A so am heading off into garage in a mo to start unbolting things - not completely sure what I'm doing but how wrong can it go? Bristol still waiting for cill covers to be made up but wouldn't want to be driving it anyway now I understand a bit more about the effects of steel, aluminium and salt when they're all put together on an old car. Am doing a fair bit of running around locally (by car) for oldies that are struggling a bit and it's reminded me how much I like our old Landcruiser - we've had it from new in 1997, nearly 300,000 miles, it's never stranded and it's just a great old bus. Anyway off to the garage - wish me luck - am hoping the patio heaters will raise the temp in the garage a bit....

I wish you luck Andrew! It's been a pleasant 25C here today, I only think of England when I open the freezer!

I didn't last long - it was very cold..but I have a plan! Get more heaters, remove front axle assembly and bring it into the house in one piece where it's nice and warm and take it apart there! I think it'll make a nice centrepiece on dining room table for Valentines Day. Cheers A

Aha! I knew you were all alive. What's with the steering wheel, Tony? NickRS had a couple of UJs on the steering column on his 18/85, bringing it a lot more vertical. Can't say that I liked it when I sat in the car. Jab booked for Tuesday with SWMBO as well. She delevops "attitude" if car parts wander into the house. Andrew must be a lucky man! C.

Funnily enough, I think it’s not the steering wheel that gets me,it’s trying to reach the switches comfortably. I toyed with the idea of power steering but once I got used to the old girl again and remembering to start slow speed turns early the techniques came back. We have been spoilt with the modern jalopy. Good luck with the jab. Sooner we all get it we might be allowed out.

With quite a few key and not able to find a suitable key box, I decided to build my own. Here are the starting bits.

So much work and a few months I finally completed what I set out to do.
it needed a lot more fettling, trimming and filling than I had hoped but I am pleased with the finished result.
Not the only project of course.
