Does anyone have a template for wheel arch liners? I realise Lokari still make them to order, but I was thinking of making some out of HDPE sheet. If all else fails i will have to get busy with the cardboard and scissors.

I have an unfitted pair of Lokari ones stashed away. Some time property of AndrewA. I could draw round one if you wish?

Well done. Seeing as you did yours, I did mine. Well, there was no point in re-burying them in the back of the small garage. VOF707J by Penguin 45, on Flickr VOF707J by Penguin 45, on Flickr VOF707J by Penguin 45, on Flickr This does mean that Tony is the keeper of the sacred templates. Chris.

Good stuff. Cheers for that. And yes if anyone wants a template, more than happy to oblige.

I read somewhere (sorry can't readily find a link) that the heat extraction is aided by the turbulence from the wheel rotating creating a low pressure area if so this could well be changed by the fitting of the liner, but I imagine the only risk is if stuck in stationery traffic on a hot summer's day. Great to have feedback in due course as I believe the potential to keep mud and damp away from the wing is so important. David Will have to keep an eye on cooling etc, as partially covering rad outlet. Tony S

I have the liners in both my Landcrabs, and have never had any cooling issues even in very hot weather. Peter

Thanks Peter, that’s good information. The only times i had previously with over heating was in the 1980s when we towed a caravan with six of us in the car! I fitted an oil cooler and problem solved forever. I haven’t installed the oil cooler this time and have had the engine running for an hour in the hot weather whilst stationary and never gone over the “N”. The problem with oil coolers is getting the engine up to temperature particularly in the winter.

Well i have been for a twenty mile run around the local roads to get up to temp and and hasn’t even reached “N” so allowing for ambient temp of 15 degrees c not really surprising. No sign of the liners shifting, and as the roads around here are pretty rough happy thus far.

Just as a footnote to this, I can agree with Tony that engine cooling appears to be unaffected.
However, when the nearside front indicators packed up yesterday, todays task of repairing them and cleaning all the earths was performed through the hole left by removing the headlight.

Ah pain. Mine still sit below the liners as later vehicle.
