Hi there, Ive got an E - reg Wolseley 18/85 which I have here. I have owned it for about a year and I can't decide what to do with it. It is a bit rusty here and there, but looks 90% complete.
It hasn't run for a few years, but I have no reason to believe it wouldn't run now after a bit of fiddling around.
Are body panels for these available still?
Thanks Nick

Hello Nick, welcome aboard.
18/85 on an "E" plate will be a early MkI. It does look like there is some work to be done.....
That said, you get a wonderful car when it is all done.
Your car shows many of the obvious rust spots on these cars - wings, doors, bonnet - which in many ways are largely cosmetic. Given the visible problems, I would seriously advise you to look at the front floor areas, sills, inner wings, front cross member and valance. Underneath, check the out-riggers ("gusset plates") in the front corners of the floor. These are structural and are crucial to the cars safety. A look in the "Rust" section and virtually any of the restoration theads will give you a fair idea of what you're looking for.
Panels are an issue. Ray House (07891888685) has a barn full of old stock 'Crab stuff. He will not ship, you have to collect, so make sure that the list is complete. For instance, if the outer sills are shot, so are the inners and you can now only get one side - but the inner is adaptable to both sides.
If you need help, PM me, but be advised that due to moving house I'm about three months away from taking on any project work.
Regards,
Chris.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your reply. I have had a good look round it, and there is a-lot of rust about - it probably isn't worth saving because of the money that would be involved in getting it solid (probably the reason it was taken off the road all those years ago).
If it is not salvagable, I may well list on ebay and let somebody have it as a parts car - what do you reckon?
