Hi Guys,
I'm looking at the Six on Kim Cairns site with possibly a viewing next week, what should the correct interior trim colour be for a Teal Blue car? Any thoughts on the car in general please? My first dive into crab ownership so I need to get the right car.

Hi CW, Interior should be olive with a grey headlining. KCCrab by Penguin 45, on Flickr Looking at this picture from the vendors site would suggest that the seats have been re-faced at some point. All specs, tech and parts info can be found in the Documents section - HERE. Chris.

It looks good in the photo and although it has low mileage I would suggest having a really good read through the rust section in the forum as you will need to ascertain what repairs if any have been done to the car with special reference to the floor and inner sills. Others here have been caught out by what appear to be sound vehicles but subsequently required extensive and expensive repairs. It is actually quite an ingenious but complex structure especially at the bulkhead end and in the past shortcuts were often taken. The Mk111 crabs including the W6 seemed to have been built from lower quality steel and many would rust away quite happily especially in out of sight areas no matter how much care they were given. The problem is that inspecting the inner sills requires the carpet being pulled back and having to view them through apertures normally sealed with tape. However, given that the asking price is in my opinion very much on the high side I would think it reasonable to ask for this to be shown. As far as the engine goes the main concern is to look for any signs of overheating as they had somewhat restricted cooling due to the compactness of the design. You may wish to contact Tony Wood at LOCI to ascertain the latest position on the automatic gearbox spares as this may be an issue if anything is needed. The engine should feel ultra smooth as it is an inline six and the gears should change smoothly up and down without slipping or jerking. Other than that the usual things applicable to other vehicles apply. I would be interested to her what warranty they provide on the car. (The bonnet does look to be out of adjustment on one of the photos). Good luck David Hi Guys, I'm looking at the Six on Kim Cairns site with possibly a viewing next week, what should the correct interior trim colour be for a Teal Blue car? Thanks for your advice, we have decided against at the moment due to a pending house move and the garage will be taken up with boxes in the short term....I hope!
