Hi Guys,

Would anyone have all of the codes listed for the difference speedo/instrument panels please? for eg my auto has a little 1376 written just below the odometer ....

Mk1 Auto -
Mk2 Auto -
Mk1 Manual -
Mk2 Manual -

Also, I understand that the diff ratios changed depending on which year/gearbox you had.... Can the auto diff go into the manual housing? or visa-versa?

No idea on the speedos. I could dig up the BMC/BL part numbers if that would help. 1376 will be the TPM - turns per mile. My speedo isn't visibly marked.

There are only two diff ratios. 3.88:1 and 4.19:1. This is shared across all models. Allegedly the diff from the Ambassador 1.7 auto will give a better ratio, but find one...... Nick might be able to fill you in rather more on differentials.
