Good stuff, David. An interesting take on the cars by comparing them with modern ones.
The construction articles' closing commets about crash survivabilty is disappointing - the 'Crab is a tough old bus.

Hi Chris The author is a Landcrab owner and I think he feels he has to temper his comments in the articles so he is not accused of a prejudiced article because of his obvious love for them. Back in 1977 my fist Landcrab was written off with my wife driving after a head on with a Land Rover. It hit with such force that it climbed onto the bonnet and she escaped uninjured unlike the lunatics driving the Land Rover who were badly bruised. There are a couple of videos on You tube showing how the strength of the Landcrab which I can find if anyone is interested. David Good stuff, David. An interesting take on the cars by comparing them with modern ones. The construction articles' closing commets about crash survivabilty is disappointing - the 'Crab is a tough old bus. Chris.

Here is a link to the Automobile Engineer technical article on the 1800, it is 26 pages long and I find it facinating. My link takes you to a website from where you need to click the blue text starting on 4th line with "three part analysis of the Austin 1800... " to download the PDF file. Link: copeland.id.au/?p=67regards David

That is excellent. I already had parts of these articles, but this set extends into some very interesting stuff. The article on the 3litre Hydrolastic and self leveling is much more detailed than all information in the workshop manual.
Thanks for posting this link!
Regards,
Alexander
