Evening all
I have just taken on a project car bought from eBay for a Brexit Leyland Tour of Europe next year. The idea is …. British car pre 1980 no more than 450 quid per passenger ( no limit on rebuild cost so 2 people limit 900 3 people limit 1350 etc. tour round Europe museums, race meets, in best of British engineering before life became complicated. (not a political thing just want to do something fun away from all the current nonsense, have a laugh and see a bit of Europe at the same time)
It seems to be a very dark green but I cant find any reference to colour. Possibly wild moss ?
I hope that there are some Landcrab or Leyland experts out there that can possibly confirm or possibly suggest what the colour is. I think the car is changeover between the mk2 and mk 3 as it has a later grille but not the nasty Formica dash, handbrake in normal place etc. I have a load of boxes of uncatalogued parts in general states of decay but the sills and wheel arches have been changed.
Spent the day scraping off thirty year old hammerite from the engine bay prior to prep as we want to get the engine back in as soon as possible and see if it runs before its painted.
any help on working out the colour and any reference pictures of the interior and under engine bay go together would be amazingly helpful. I have a proper BL shop manual and this seems very comprehensive and I have joined the Landcrab club so hopefully the Green Hornet will be buzzing around soon
