Having discussed this with Richard and a few others, I am now asking for your views and any objections you may have to the following proposal.
What I propose
To gather technical guidance from this forum, and other sources, and structure it to complement the workshop manual. Ie to bring together everything relating to the clutch etc. To make this freely available on a website.
What I need you to tell me
Whether you are content for the information relating to your posts on this forum to be used in this way, with suitable acknowledgements and disclaimers.
Why?
As the threads on this forum expand it becomes increasingly difficult to track down particular aspects, especially where posts cover a number of items. There are also many other sources of information and it can become tedious to keep track of them all.
Your response
You may either pm me or reply or respond on this thread if you have a point of view you believe is better shared and discussed openly. If you do not reply by the end of March 2011, I will take this as no objection. The final decision will rest with Richard in light of the comments received.
Thanks in advance
David

It seems a sound idea to me. Just hope any information I share turns out to be correct. Usual disclaimer about at your own risk.
Regards Kels.

Do it. I get fed up scrambling between workshop manuals, MGB internet threads, occasional club meetings and the pits of eBay trying to figure out problems. I'd like to think that I'm quite good at solving problems, but not all of us are.
If the completed resource could be attached here in some form, it would benefit us all and do the forum itself a lot of good.
Chris.
