I went out this morning & swapped the inline filter by the carburetor (which has been clean since I replaced the old flexi lines) with a non return valve. the problem I've been having is the fuel percolates back when the engine is off, my car only has the manual crank driven pump- it takes some winding to start it, not great when you're on a dynamo. I replaced the filter with the valve & went to sort out tyre pressures. About 6 hours later went back and started up, the car fired within two turns. For less than £5 it's definitely a worthwhile upgrade. The test will be tomorrow morning - standing & cold. Getting the tyres pumped up was fun - I've never seen anyone take 25 minutes to do four tyres, but this woman and her daughter managed it! seriously people need to be taught how to do simple maintenance tasks, even on a practically brand new car, and all they're being taught are road signs that everyone else ignores anyway..
