Have had the garage who did oil change put one bottle of this into the car. So it's 1 litre of LOS to 4.8 litres of Gulf Zinc classic 20/50. Best described out of the bottle as petroleum based honey - it's quite thick stuff compared to the normal oil. So far it's raised running oil pressure a little - 2/3psi on the gauge - & there seems to be no increase in engine temperature. What it does appear to have done is slowed the pressure drop from running at speed to running at idle, which is a good thing because the engine after about 20 miles has 0 indicated on the gauge at idle. I've not gone far enough to know whether it improves idle oil pressure when everything is fully hot. It seems to make the transmission shift better but so far that's subjective - it definitely sounds smoother. It did make a few nasty noises when I started it cold & let it idle up to temperature but I suspect that was related to running at low rpm - running the engine at speed for a few seconds & letting back to idle - that noise had gone completely.
So far I'm happy with the additive - it hasn't raised oil pressure much - but it does mean the engine holds oil pressure at idle much longer & the transmission seems to be smoother as it should. The only thing that *slightly* concerns me is bubbles in the oil but will keep an eye & ear out.
It should be noted that there are different oils specified in the manual for different temperature envelopes. Anything above -12°c is 20W50 (so UK, France, Germany and warmer), -7° to -18°c should be 10W50 and below -18°c should be 5W20 weight oil*.
